Household Chore List Software Description
Version 6.0 is now available, and features our New Schedule Setup Wizard! (April 16th 2008)
Let’s Clean Up! keeps track of all your house cleaning and maintenance tasks for you.
Sometimes it’s half the battle just to find a system that works. With our busy schedules, it’s difficult to remember to do the things we intend to do. Let’s Clean Up! removes this burden because it remembers everything you tell it. You can choose to ignore the program, but at least you can be sure that you won't lose track of important tasks.
In addition to routine cleaning, the program's household chore list helps you keep track of chores that you need to do less often, like cleaning or replacing the furnace filter, rotating mattresses, replacing the baking soda in the pantry, cleaning out the gutters, and fertilizing plants and trees. This program is as unlimited as your imagination. Look at the sample database that comes with the software for ideas on how you can make the best use of the program.

Let’s Clean Up! provides you with a dynamic, flexible, customized household chore list.
Chore lists that include every task that will ever need to be done can look very overwhelming, but our software produces a schedule of only those tasks that you want done at the intervals that you set.
Unlike household chore lists that you create once and then copy over and over again, Let’s Clean Up! creates a flexible schedule that changes from day to day or week to week − whatever meets your needs and your personal preferences. Because of its dynamic nature, the program only prompts you to perform the chores that need to be done at the moment. In addition, if you skip doing a chore, the program automatically reschedules it on the next chore list.
Educate your whole family about what it takes to have a clean, well-maintained home.
In many homes most of the housework falls on one set of shoulders, and other family members don't know what it takes to keep the home clean and well maintained. The Let’s Clean Up! program allows you to break your home cleaning and maintenance tasks into manageable chunks of work, so all family members can take part. Your family will no longer will be faced with an instruction like "Let’s clean this room". Instead, you can give them an itemized household chore list and they will know exactly what chores to do. Over time, you can easily adjust your instructions to provide more or less detail. You can set up the program to produce a complete list of all the chores that need to be done, or an individual chore list for each person. Over time, everyone in your home will come to understand the workload and appreciate the effort and the results.

Help your family work as a team and keep your house cleaning under control.
Using Let’s Clean Up! to schedule and track cleaning and maintenance activities helps you really get everyone working together. It creates an atmosphere of teamwork. With a set list of chores, rather than the ambiguous goal of "cleaning", the work feels more manageable and the finish line is visible to everyone. Although it is possible for family members to do their chores whenever they wish, we have found that this teamwork aspect works best when everyone works together at the same time. We like to put some CDs in the stereo and crank it up while we work. You can even use Let’s Clean Up! to keep track of whose turn it is to choose the music!

Let’s Clean Up! helps take the stress and anxiety out of your housekeeping.
Even in homes where family members share cleaning duties, it is very common for a one family member to initiate and manage all the work. If you are that person, you know how stressful it can be encouraging others to help and stay involved each time you clean. It can actually make you feel like "the bad guy", even though your work benefits the whole family! When you use Let’s Clean Up! and set a regular cleaning schedule, initiating home maintenance activities becomes automatic. Print the household chore list regularly (for example, every Saturday morning) and all family members will know what they need to do. Cleaning becomes a part of the normal routine, no muss, no fuss, and no more stress.
One dad who uses Let’s Clean Up! summed it up this way: "When my 13 year old son was planning his weekend activities, I reminded him of the cleaning schedule. He didn’t groan or complain, he simply asked in an upbeat way: ‘What area are we doing this week?’ - I love it!"
"If you ask what is the single most important key to longevity, I would have to say it is avoiding worry, stress and tension. And if you didn't ask me, I'd still have to say it." ~ George F. Burns
Help your children grow up knowing how to care for a home.
It’s hard for kids to understand and appreciate what it takes to keep a home nice, but Let’s Clean Up! is a great teaching tool.
Let’s Clean Up can print out a household chore list for each family member. This is an important step up from chore charts for kids. Our printouts are dynamic, meaning that they reflect only the work that needs doing at the time intervals that you custom set. From day−to−day or week−to−week, chore lists vary depending on the chores that remain undone.
When your children are no longer living at home, they will have the skills to keep their apartment, dorm room, or house in good order.

Hiring a cleaning service? Use our house cleaning checklist to set expectations and track results.
Smart Money magazine has an excellent article series called "Ten Things". Each month they describe ten things that some service or sales organization will not tell you about their product. In one such article, they described the "Ten Things Your Cleaning Service Won't Tell You". To read the entire article, click here. The general gist is that cleaning services tend to "get comfortable" with their position as your cleaning company and often will cut corners. Cleaning services can and often do start to take you for granted and quit performing all your tasks if they think that you won't notice or remember.
You can use Let’s Clean Up! to set expectations with your cleaning service and make sure you get your money's worth. Use the program to set initial expectations when you hire a service, and then print a regular household chore list for each visit and ask them to check all of the tasks they completed.
